Originally from Venezuela, with a passion for both music and learning, he has honed his skills over the years to graduate in 2023 with a double degree at Bard College Conservatory of Music in music performance and French Studies in addition to a music certificate on the Advance Performance Studies program in 2025. During his time at Bard, he worked under the guidance of esteemed mentors like Julia Pilant, Barbara Jöstlein Currie, Jeffrey Lang and Hugo Valverde. Beyond his musical endeavors, his interest in French studies led him to embark on a senior project that explored the intricate relationship between music and politics in early 20th Century France, shedding light on the profound impact of French composers as intellectuals, receiving the William Weaver Prize. His academic pursuits have enriched his musical interpretations, infusing his performances with depth and understanding.
Alberto's musical journey began in 2010 at the prestigious Conservatory Vicente Emilio Sojo, It was here that he initially embraced the profound influence of music. His dedication and interest set him to become part of El Sistema in Barquisimeto, Lara. It was during this formative period that Alberto's skills flourished, laying the groundwork for his future accomplishments.
In 2013, Alberto's exceptional talent earned him a place in the National Children's Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela where he had the privilege of participating in the Salzburg Festival under the baton of the renowned conductor Sir Simon Rattle. This international experience broadened his horizons and marked the beginning of his journey into the world of orchestral music. This early experience allowed him to continue to shine through as he performed regularly with the Lara Youth Symphony Orchestra from 2014 and the Lara Symphony Orchestra in 2017 under the baton of illustrious conductors such as Gustavo Dudamel and Christian Vásquez.
Continuing his musical journey, Alberto has participated in the Miami Music Festival in 2019 and the Lake George Music Festival in 2024. Currently, he is part of the Orchestra Institute 2025 cohort from OAcademy where he is working with Katy Woolley (Royal Concertgebouw Principal). He also has participated as a freelancer with The Orchestra San Antonio, The Opera of San Antonio, The San Antonio Ballet, the Bard Music Festival and The Orchestra Now.
Alberto’s music philosophy centers on the belief that performance is more than just the delivery of sound—it is an opportunity to create a shared, emotionally resonant experience. For him, the ultimate goal is to foster a genuine connection between the music, the performer, and the listener. Through the lens of teaching artistry, Alberto has discovered meaningful ways to engage audiences of all ages and backgrounds. Whether in the concert hall, classroom, or community setting, he uses music as a bridge to inspire curiosity, reflection, and joy. His approach combines technical excellence with storytelling, cultural awareness, and interactive elements that invite listeners to become active participants in the musical experience. By blending performance with pedagogy, Alberto continues to explore how music can be both transformative and accessible.
